ADA Website Compliance
During the 2021 Legislative Session, HB21-1110 was signed into law, which added language to Colorado statute related to persons with disabilities and to strengthen protections against discrimination based on disability. These protections could make counties more susceptible to lawsuits for non-compliance.
A significant area of concern for counties is to ensure that websites can be interpreted reliably by assistive technologies, like screen readers, that allow those with disabilities to benefit from website content.
These resources are to assist counties in ensuring their websites are compliant. Additional resources are available on the Office of Information Technology’s website.
