Colorado Association of Conservation Districts
The Colorado State Legislature created the Colorado State Soil Conservation Act in 1937 providing Colorado with the infrastructure to conserve the State’s valuable natural resources.
CACD was established in 1945 to represent the Conservation Districts of Colorado. The original conservationists created by Congress in response to the 1930’s Dust Bowl Era. The Conservation Districts are grouped into ten geographical regions, known as watersheds. There are currently (74) conservation districts within the state of Colorado
CACD strongly supports efforts made towards the conservation of Colorado’s natural resources with resource management on a watershed basis that addresses soil health, native plant communities, water quantity and quality issues, and wildlife issues.
Each Conservation District is charged with identifying and caring for the natural resources within their respective District. The Board Members of each district represent their local landowners. The local landowners are most familiar with the natural resource issues on their land and in their region. Conservation Districts work with landowners and partners in identifying the best management practices to address the resource concerns in their respective locations.
CACD works with districts in education, public outreach, youth natural resources education programs, education and speakership funding assistance and also lobbys at the Capitol in the best interests of conservation and natural resources concerning conservation districts and their landowners.

Enterprise Fleet Management
Government organizations don’t always have the capital to replace aging fleet vehicles at the optimal time. Enterprise Fleet Management can help you reduce the age of your fleet within your budget by moving you from an owned, buy and hold fleet management approach to a more flexible program with a shortened cycle, meaning you can have newer – and safer – vehicles for the same investment (or less).
Your dedicated local Account Manager will provide a Fleet Cost Analysis showing the financial benefits of replacing vehicles, as well as the sustained average savings once all of your vehicles are newer and more reliable. We’ll also help you navigate county, government and municipality approval.

Special District Association of Colorado
Special districts, as units of local government, fill a vital role in providing fire and rescue services; water and wastewater treatment and delivery; park and recreation amenities; hospitals; and libraries in many communities across Colorado. There are currently 2,677 such districts in the state, of which 1,592 are members of the Special District Association of Colorado (SDA). SDA was established in 1975 to provide legislative input, administrative support, and training opportunities for member districts. SDA is an effective lobbying and educational organization that strives to serve the needs of special districts and their locally elected Board members. In addition to district members, SDA also has 256 associate members who provide information and services for the operation and development of special districts. SDA is governed by an 11-member Board of Directors, which is elected by member districts. All SDA Board members must also serve on the Board of a special district. “Collaboration is key to the success of local government,” says Ann Terry, SDA’s Executive Director. “We are pleased to work closely with our county partners to help our members provide the best possible services for the citizens they serve.”
