Garfield County Seeking a Deputy County Manager
Garfield County seeks a successful public servant to serve as its next Deputy County Manager. Garfield County, population 60,000+, is one of the largest counties in Colorado, incorporating nearly 3,000 square miles on the western boundary of the state. The area boasts world class fishing, hunting, skiing, and the nationally recognized Glenwood Hot Springs. Garfield County, along with its neighboring counties, rely heavily on natural resource extraction, tourism, and ranching. About 60% of Garfield County’s lands are federally owned. Garfield County employs ≈500 EEs and provides services such as Road and Bridge, Public Health, Human Services, and Community Corrections to the citizens of Garfield County.
The Deputy County Manager Co-directs, administers and coordinates the activities of Garfield County in accordance with policies, goals and objectives established by the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) and under the direction of the County Manager. Serves as the deputy to the County Manager in providing operations management for assigned projects and functions.
