County Term Limits

In 1994, the citizens of Colorado passed Amendment 17 which established term limits for all local elected offices.  Amendment 17 contains a provision allowing local governments to place term limit exemption questions on the ballot.  To date 58 counties have successfully removed or extended term limits for one or more elected offices.  The following is a listing of counties that have successfully repealed or extended term limits, the offices that were affected, and the year in which the term limit was repealed.
